Random Late Night Thoughts

So, I'm sitting here thinking about the Jays next season (I have not given up on this year, I just like to think ahead), and I have come to the conclusion that Alex Rios or Vernon Wells needs to be traded.

They are too similar to be in the same batting order, expecially hitting back to back. And neither is all that awesome to begin with.

To make this offense the best it can be, you need to add the impact of a pure DH.

Carlos Delgado, Jim Thome, and Jason Giambi are all free agents after this season and all would be an offensive upgrade over Rios or Wells, from a power perspective.

Trading Wells or Rios allows Adam Lind to play LF and Travis Snider to play RF every day.

Also being able to trade Lyle Overbay (who I love, defensively) and bring in a guy who hits like a 1B. Adam Lind could convert to 1B to help this, allowing the Jays to bring in a guy who is all offensive in LF, an Adam Dunn type.

I also think the Jays should trade for a SS, and sign him long-term. I am thinking JJ Hardy. The Jays have so many young pitchers that the Brewers could use and a SS waiting in AAA who is a top prospect.

I also think the Jays need a catcher for a couple years. If the Indians are keep on keeping Victor Martinez long-term, Kelly Shoppach would be a nice pick-up and the Jays could deel one of their catching prospects and a young arm (of the Robert Ray variety) to do it.

Hopefully Alex Rios has a good second half, or Vernon Wells an amazing one, and the Jays can trade Rios/Wells to a big market for prospects or a good #2 type starter (Matt Cain?).

My perfect trades (Under these circumstances, JP Riccardi is not GM, even though I am a fan):

To Milwaukee: Jesse Litsch & Kevin Ahrens
To Toronto: JJ Hardy & 72 Hr window to sign multi-year contract

To San Francisco: Vernon Wells
To Toronto: Matt Cain

To Cleveland: Brian Jeroloman & Robert Ray
To Toronto: Kelly Shoppach

To Washington: David Purcey & Jeremy Accardo
To Toronto: Adam Dunn & 24 yr window to sign new contract

To New York Mets: Lyle Overbay
To Toronto: Prospect

Under those circumstances, this would be my ideal roster, if life were a video game.

C: Kelly Shoppach
1B: Adam Lind
2B: Aaron Hill
3B: Scott Rolen
SS: JJ Hardy
LF: Adam Dunn
CF: Alex Rios
RF: Travis Snider
DH: Carlos Delgado

Bench: Joe Inglett, Russ Adams, JP Arencibia, Randy Ruiz

Rotation
1. Halladay
2. Cain
3. Marcum
4. Romero
5. McGowan

Bullpen
Downs, Ryan, Janssen, League, Tallet, Richmond, Carlson

Mills, Cecil, and Fabio Castro make up the potential rotation replacements in AAA.

This is a dream world, but the payroll would still be under $100 Million.

Well, enough of this nonsense, I'm fucking tired.

A Look At The Bullpen - Epic Struggles

Man, does the Jays bull pen suck dick lately or what? It seems as though they have been since Ryan hit the DL, but I know they have sucked since he got back.

Shawn Camp has given up 10 ER in his last 9.1 IP, raising his ERA from 0.00 to 5.40, while getting 2 losses along the way.

Jesse Carlson has given up 8 ER in his last 6 IP, raising his ERA from 2.70 to 4.85, lossing a game and bowing a save.

Scotty Downs has given up 5 ER in his last 5.2 IP, raising his ERA from 0.59 to 2.57, which is still really good and all, but c'mon. It's Snakeface I'm talking about. That is brutal for Downs.

Jason Frasor has only had 1 bad outing the entire season. I think I'm fine there.

Brandon League has been his erratic self. I can't complain about him.

BJ Ryan has been shit all season, leaving absolutely zero doubt he sucks.

Brian Wolfe was actually good up until his last outing. I'll give him a break.

Who could help this team?

Wade Miller, with a 3.81 ERA as a starter in AAA? He had fantastic stuff a few years ago, and that could translate really well to the pen.

Jonah Bayliss? He has a 2.57 ERA in 28 AAA IP. He could help I'm sure.

Jeremy Accardo? A 2.84 ERA in 19 IP in AAA. We know how good he can be.

I want to see how Zach Dials, Dan Farquhar, Edgar Estanga & Ed Buzachero do in AAA before I think about them.

I just want some change. Something different. God, I'm starting to hate BJ Ryan.

Who Has The Pieces To Acquire Jake Peavy?

So, after seeing Peavy nix a deal to the White Sox last week, I have decidd to investigate which teams could pull off a Peavy trade.
A few things to consider:
1. It seams Peavy only wants to go to an NL team.
2. The deal must bring in pitchers, at least 2 who can step right in.
So, let's explore.
Atlanta Braves
They almost made a deal in the off-season, so why not re-explore what could be done here.
I would think that Tommy Hanson is off the table, which is fine, as the Braves have a lot of pitchers.
Kris Medlen is a good starting point, as his value is probably equal to Aaron Poreda (the top prospect in the White Sox deal). Charlie Morton, James Parr, Jo-Jo Reyes, Craig Kimbrel, and Steve Marek are all guys that could be in the deal. All are back-end guys or bull-pen members, so there would need to be another mid-rotation guy in the deal.
Cole Rohrbough of Jeff Locke are the guys I see in the deal.
The Braves are one of the few teams that could trade 4 MLB or near-MLB realy arms and realy not feel it too much.
I think a package of Medlen, Morton, Marek, and Locke is a good package for Peavy.
New York Mets
The Mets have the pieces, but I don't think they could afford to lose the depth.
Joe Niese and Brad Holt (not either, both) would need to be in the deal. Eddie Kunz would be another piece that Pads would want, as they need the bull-pen help. Bobby Parnell or Dillon Gee would be what pushes it over the edge.
The Padres couldn't say no to this deal, bu I don't think the Mets can give that up. Besides, Peavy may not accept a deal to such a large market.
Philadelphia Phillies
I don't think they have the pieces to pull it off, but they definately have the desire.
The deal starts with Carlos Carrasco AND J.A. Happ. 2 more arms, like Joe Savery and Antonio Bastardo would be nice, but I think there needs to be a relief prospect in there. Mike Stutes or Jason Knapp, or BJ Rosenberg could be subbed for Savery or Bastardo.
The deal would gut the Phillies pitching prospects. No way this happens, and Peavy would have to accept pitching in a glorified back yard.
Chicago Cubs
Most people think this is his final destination, but I don't see it. I don't think they have the pieces that they want to move to make the deal.
For starters, I think Jeff Samardzilla needs to be the biggest piece, with 2008 1st rounder Andrew Cashner the other big piece. Jose Ascaino, Randy Wells, and Kevin Hart could all be pieces in the deal.
I don't see the Cubs parting with a pckage like this, but they are one of the few teams I think Peavy will waive his no-trade for.
Cincinnati Reds
This is the team I think should make the splash. Let's see if they have the depth.
Homer Bailey is the beginning of the deal. Since Bailey has lost a lot of stock, the rest of the arms need to be quality as well. Daryl Thompson is a likely piece, as are Josh Roenicke and Ramon Ramirez.
Those 4 arms would probably do it for the Padres, but Kyle Lotzkar could replace one the arms.
I cannot see Peavy accepting a trade here or the Reds willing to gut their pitching depth to do this. But, this is where I want to see Peavy.
Milwaukee Brewers
I don't see how this will be possible unless they trade 2 guys on their current roster, Manny Parra and Carlos Villanueva. They would also need to include their top pitching prospect, Jeremy Jeffress. Then, a relief throw in with value, like Tim Dillard, RJ Swindle, or Wes Littleton.
The Brewers would be pretty crazy to make a deal like that, but it could be worth the package if Peavy can be what Sabathia was last year.
St. Louis Cardinals
I could see them coming in with a package if Peavy would be willing to go there, which I don't see why he wouldn't (I'd give a leg to play on the same team as Albert Pujols). I don't know who would be the big piece to the Pads in this one, but there are plenty of MLB-ready arms that could help the Padres.
Starters: Jess Todd, Clayton Mortenson, Mitch Boggs, and Mike Parisi.
Now, while there is a big drop off in talent after Mortenson, where the starting isn't as strong, the relief propects are much more impressive.
Chris Perez and Jason Motte could make this deal happen.
I think the Padres would want at least 3 guys would can start, so I don't see a great match.
Let the trade speculation fun begin.

A Little Something Awesome On A Saturday Morning

So, as I was Google-ing myself earlier today, to see which keywords could put me at the top of the hit list, I can accross a gem of a web-site.

Yup, I know.

I'm thinking the same thing.

It's pretty fucking awesome.

Well, That Was Quick

Travis Snider has been sent to AAA, less than a week after I suggested it. I'm pretty fuckin smart.

Joe Inglett has been called up to take his spot over my preferance (Brett Harper), and I'm not sure what this meens for the line-up post-interleague play.

Does Inglett play LF against RHP? Does Lind, potentially messing with his rhythm? Does Bautista get the regular LF at-bats?

These are all questions that I have no clue how to answer, as all are pretty solid moves. Lind playing LF allows Millar to get more at-bats as DH, but could potentially be a negative for Lind, having to adjust to playing OF regularily. Let's see how he plays in Atlanta this weekend before we decide if that's a good thing or not.

Inglett and Bautista sharing LF makes the most sense in the long-term, as Snider will most likely be back up in a month or so and there would be no re-adjustment period.

Also, sliding Inglett into the 9 slot is alot easier than juggling the line-up to fit Millar in around the 7 hole.

Well, that AAA line-up is gonna be pretty powerful, adding Snider to Harper & Ruiz in the middle. At least they should start winning some more games.

Some Quick News - And "Analysis"

So, the big news today is the proposed Jake Peavy trade.

The known pieces:

1. Jake Peavy would go to the White Sox.

2. Aaron Poreda (top pitching prospect) and Clayton Richards (current rotation member) would likely go the other way, along with 2 other players to be named (either propsects from a list or guys drafted in '08).

3. The 2 teams have agreed to the deal.

4. The deal solely hinges on Jake himself.

So, to me, it seems like the only holding the trade up is the lack of balls on Jake Peavy. Is he so afraid of pitching in the American League that he would keep himself in San Diego to rot in baseball hell?

It's being reported that Peavy is leaning towards declining the trade, which is fucking stupid. Unless he is waiting for a team that has a really high shot at the playoffs to swoop in and offer a package. I hope Peavy knows what he is doing, because, to me, he is coming off like a cunt if he doesn't accept the trade.

Next thing on todays newswire: San Diego did make a deal today, acquiring Tony Gwynn Jr. from the Brewers for current OF Jody Gerut. This is clearly a money trade, as Gerut makes just under $2M, while Gwynn makes about league minimum. It doesn;t hurt that Gwynn is also the son of Padre great Tony Gwynn. The little Gwynn should start in CF for a while, while Gerut makes an excellent 4th OF on a good team.

Also on todays rumour mill: The trade of Jack Wilson for Yuniesky Betencourt will not happen. I thought this deal was good for both teams. The Mariners get a slight upgrade for the rest of the season, and watch Wilson leave as a free agent, so they can spend more money on free agents. The Pirates shed money this year (but add on more total dollars) and get a short stop for the next couple years who is about as good as Wilson. It's not like the Pirates have a guy who can start at SS anyway. Oh well, it's not like it really matters. Both teams suck.

Well, that's it for now. Oh, and yeah, those are my mad MS paint skills on display.

Is It Time To Send Down The Phenom?

Now, I want to start off of by saying that this is not a panic move, out of frustration. It has been carefully thought over.

Maybe it is time to send Snider down to AAA for a month.

Pros:
  • Snider will get to hit in the PCL, which is a very hitter friendly league.
  • He will get to hit in Vegas, which is a hitter's ballpark.

and the most important pro: it will stop his clock to allow the team to gain control for another season.

Cons:

  • It could effect his mentalilty, damaging him long-term. (Unlikely, as Snider has dealt with more serious things than getting demoted.)

That's all I can think of for cons, as there really isn't a negative thing to be had.

Travis Sniders currently hits 9th in the order, so anybody who replaces him full time won't have huge expectations.

Now, onto who I think should get the call-up and how the line-up will look as a result.

I think that by making a roster change like this, it allows Cito a reason to shuffle the line-up a little as well. I'll get to that in a minute, after I list the 2 (maybe 3) guys who should get the call.

1. Brett Harper. Harper has been awesome down in AAA (and I know that is a hitter's environment, so back the fuck off) and deserves a shot anyway, so why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone? He has a .324 BA (.358 OBP) with 10 HR in 34 games.

2. Howie Clark. Long time minor leaguer, and former Jay, Howie has been really good so far in AAA. He has hit .308 (.366 OBP) with 22 RsBI in 32 games.

3. Randy Ruiz. This one is more far fetched (would really only make sense as a replacement for Millar), but I feel he deserves a mention. Ruiz is hitting .282 (.352 OBP) with 17 xtra base hits in 35 games.

I would prefer Harper, because he gives you the closest to the potential of Snider for this season. Harper is only 27 and really isn't enshrined as a AAAA guy yet, as last season was his first in AAA.

The line-up.

1. SS Marco Scutaro

2. RF Alex Rios

3. 2B Aaron Hill

4. LF Adam Lind (DH vs. LHP)

5. CF Vernon Wells

6. 1B Lyle Overbay (Millar vs LHP)

7. 3B Scott Rolen

8. C Rod Barajas

9. DH Brett Harper (Bautista in LF vs LHP)

So really, not much changes. Just a couple flip flops.

I believe that Rios' struggles are more mental, dispite the obvious mechanical problems. I think he puts too much pressure on himself to be "the guy" when he hits 3rd. I think we saw that when he led off, and hit much better. His career numbers are pretty stellar in the 2 hole, so he goes there (he could lead off though, moving Scutaro to #2).

Well, that is where my mind is at right now after another 0-3 for Snider.

Oh yeah, Fuck Brad Wilkerson

Ultimate Fighter 5: Penn vs Pulver

As I am watching Team American, yet again, I have decided that it is time for the 5th season of the Ultimate Fighter is due for a "where are they now?"

The season was all lightweights, and Penn & Pulver would be the first coaches to fight on the finale itself. I had never really cared much about either fighter, but was looking forward to getting to know their personalities a little more.

Team Penn

Gray Maynard
Maynard is actually the first Ultmiate Fighter who has appeared on another reality show, appearing on an episode of Super Nanny, teaching some little brat some MMA. He also came back to coach on season 7, as Forrest Griffin's wrestling coach. Gray is 5-0 (and a no contest) inside the UFC and should have a title shot with a couple more wins over quality fighters.

Matt Wiman
Matt is 4-3 in the UFC, with a Fight of the Night honor is his most recent loss. If he can string together a couple wins, he will boost himself into contention.

Gabe Ruediger
Gabe was the chubby bitch who couldn't make weight and cried like a little bitch. He got a couple enemas to try and lose the weight, but I am convinced he just wanted something shot into his asshole. He had a fight previously in the UFC and lost (not surprised) via a body punch KO (again, not surprised).

Joe Lauzon
My personal favourite on the show, as he had previously upset Jens Pulver in a UFC fight. Joe lost in the semi-finals, but has gone on to a 5-1 UFC record. He could also be in a title picture soon.

Rob Emerson
Rob fought like a man possesed in his 2 fights, both losses to really tall fighters, and the eventual winner. He is 2-1 in the UFC with a no contest as well. He is a solid fighter, but nothing spectacular.

Andy Wang
Wang was the first slant to be on the Ultimate Fighter, and also the first to get kicked off by his coach, only to go to Team Pulver. He lost his fight by striking with his opponent instead of trying to use his much superior wrestling. It pisses off Penn and Andy was sent away crying. He is 0-1 in the UFC.

Allen Berube
"Monsta Lobsta" was on the show seemingly to promote his business. He was a decent enough fighter, but got kicked off the show for reffing a fight in the backyard of the house. A big no-no. He fucked his shot at future UFC fights by pissing off Dana White and making the UFC look kinda silly.

Noah Thomas
Noah was also kicked off for being in the fight in the backyard. If I was judging at home, Noah won the fight 10-9. But it was close and he suffered a nice cut on his head when he was slammed on the concrete trying an armbar. In a street fight.

Team Pulver

Brandon Melendez
I'm surprised Melendez hasn't been in the UFC since the show, as he showed some potential if he could stay in the 155 lb weight class. Oh well.

Marlon Simms
He was the resident shit talker and winner of over 200 street fights. Sure. I believe he lost to Noah in the yard, as noah landed more effective strikes and almost locked on 3 submissions. He may have slammed Noah and busted him up, but Noah gets the decision.

Wayne Weems
Weems was the worst fighter in the house, but the quietest as well. He got steemrolled by Maynard in his fight and was actually pissed about losing. I kind of like that.

Corey Hill
Hill was the lanky 6'4'' monkey with no prior MMA fights. I was rooting for him to lose to Lauzon in the finals. He is 1-2 in the UFC, with his most recent loss coming via ref stoppage after his leg got snapped in half. He is someone to watch out for.

Nate Diaz
Nate is the brother of MMA star Nick Diaz, who is a bit of a dick. Nate won the whole fucking thing. He is 5-1 in the UFC and if he can beat Joe Stevenson in a couple months, he could earn a title shot.

Manny Gamburyan
Manny was winning his fight with Diaz in the finals before suffering an injury and tapping out. He is currently training to fight in the featherweight division in the WEC (which is owned by the same people who own UFC). He was 2-3 in the UFC.

Cole Miller
Cole is 4-1 in the UFC, with his next fight against season 8 winner Efrain Escudero. He recently dominated season 8 ass clown Junie Browning. Cole could be another guy who is a couple wins away from a title shot.

Brian Geraghty
I can't find anything on this guy, but he lost convincingly to Lauzon in the opening round. He seemed like he had some talent, but I guess the UFC felt differently, as he hasn't been back.

All in all, the season has produced a bunch of guys who could get near the top of the division soon with another win over a big opponent.

Probably my second favourite season of the show.

Ultimate Fighter: Season 4: The Comeback

Continuing on with my "where are they now?" series, I watched season 4 a week ago and am now ready to write a little about it.

Season 4 was the first without coaches, as the fighters were all veterens with previous UFC appearances. There were welterweights and middleweights on the show and the winners got title shots.

Welterweights

Team No-Love

Rich Clementi
The origin for the team name is with Rich, as his nick name is "No Love," but it didn't help him very much as he lost his fight. He is 5-5 in his UFC career and currently fights in the lightweight division. He had the worst facial hair of any member of the Ultimate Fighter on any season. He was recently released from his UFC deal.

Mikey Burnett
Mikey, I believe, is legally retarded. He is a really nice guy though. Not much a fighter any more. He got dominated in his fight on the show, then broke his neck running into a wall. He sued the show for damages. My verdict: kill yourself.

Jeremy Jackson
Jackson was the fighter (like there is one every season) who got booted the fuck off the show. Hr picked up a lifegaurd at a pool and then (I would assume) fucked the shit out of her after hopping the fence. Well done sir. I hope that was some really good pussy. Although he did come back into the UFC at the finale, losing in convincing fashion.

Pete Spratt
Pete lost twice o the show, the second time in place of Jeremy Jackson. He is 3-4 in the UFC, and is probably done fighting with the best in the world.

Team MOJO

Shonie Carter
"Mr. International" was pretty awesome on the show. By awesome, I mean ridiculous. He badazzled hats, painted pretty much everything in the house, made a raft out of water bottles, and wore a speedo or a suit at all times. All in all, pretty awesome. He won his first fight, but lost to Matt Serra in the most anticipated fight of the season. He is 3-3 in his very long UFC career (his first fight was in 2000).

Chris Lytle
Lytle was very soft spoken onthe show, and sometimes I forget he was on the season. He made it to finals, where he ultmately lost to Matt Serra. He is 5-9 in his UFC career, but his last 3 losses have won fight of the night. He is a very exciting fighter.

Matt Serra
Serra became the coach for his team, and has very outspoken with one of the trainers and with Matt Hughes, who he still currently feuds with. Serra won the season, then won his title shot. Then he lost it, convincingly, back to GSP. He will be fighting Hughes soon to try and settle their disputes. He is 6-5 in the UFC.

Din Thomas
Thomas lost to Lytle in a great semi final fight, and sominated Burnett in his opening fight. He is 5-4 in the UFC. He dropped to 155 lbs after the show and has since dropped to 145 lbs, a division the UFC currently does not have.

Middleweights

Team No Love

Travis Lutter
Lutter was the middleweight winner and, according to his nick name, a serial killer. He should probably be arrested if that is the case. He is 2-4 in the UFC and a very boring fighter. Next.

Charles McCarthy
He is 1-2 in the UFC and a miserable fucker. He can be seen on highlight reels under "most brutal sinning back kicks."

Gideon Ray
0-3 in the UFC and currently getting out-classed in the IFL. He now fights at welterweight. Not much else to say.

Jorge Rivera
His UFC is 4-5, but is nothing more than roster filler and a bottom rung fighter. This seaon, in hindsight, was full of mediocre fighters, except for Serra, Lytle, and Cote.

Team MOJO

Pete Sell
Drago was a favourite of mine on the show, and was in one of my favourite fights of all time, where he lost to Scott Smith. He is 3-5 in the UFC. Solid fighter.

Scott Smith
Currently fighting outside the UFC in other big promotions, Scott has been pretty successfull, earning 2 title shots in EliteXC. He is 1-3 in the UFC and I hope he is back some day soon.

Patrick Cote
My pick to win the whole thing (only because he is Canadian), but he lost in the finals. He did earn a title shot the old fashioned way though and gave Anderson Silva all he could handle, losing via ref stoppage after suffering an injury. He is 5-5 in the UFC, and should be back to his winning ways when he gets healthy.

Edwin DeWees
He is 0-3 in the UFC, and may never be back due to poor performance in other promotions. Enough said.

Well, that was the season. Probably my least favourite season of them all so far.

How 'Bout That LA Ass Raping Last Night/This Morning?

It was pretty much over when Hill dropped a bomb in the 1st. It was definately over when Wells fucked up a meatball. Halladay is nails.
And how bout Justin Speier? Pretty awesome to see him "douche up" and almost get beaten up by the hitting coach. What an ass hat.
But, HOLY PANDA RAPE, the Jays are 20-10!!!!111!!!!/
This is about as good as it gets. I am definately going to enjoy this while it lasts.
Fuck Brad Wilkerson.

Manny is Still Pretty Awesome

Only Manny Ramirez can fail a drug test for boner pills. I wonder if I can get him cheap in my fantasy leagues from panacky owners? Or maybe I should just keep the 5 DL's guys I allready have and leave it there.

At least Manny will have plenty of tme to figure out how to get wood without violating the MLB drug policy.

A Beautiful Way To Start May

As I just got finished watching Jason Frasor snag another victory, and the Jays continue to be awesome, I have to take a look at how the Jays are doing individually.

Robert Ray, part-time pro wrestler (according to Drunk Jays Fans), made his MLB debut today and pitched effectively. Another MLB on Tuesday, as Brett Cecil looks to pwn the opposition.

Offensively, the Jays have been just swell with the sticks, and Aaron Hill is leading the charge, along with Adam Lind.

The leaders in batting average are Hill (.374), Millar (.333), Barajas (.329), Lind (.320), and Jose Bautista & Scott Rolen (.318).

Hill hit his 6th HR of the season, to capture the lead over Scutaro & Lind (5 each).

Lind has 23 RsBI to lead the team, with Hill (at 22) just behind him.

The pitching has been a mixed bag, with a few guys sucking huge cock (Ryan, Litsch, Purcey & Burres). Jason Frasor, Scott Downs, and Jesse Carlson have all been very stellar so far this season. Brian Tallet has been huge in the roation in 3 starts (he did suck a little weiner against KC) and pre-injury Ricky Romero was awesome.

Bill Murphy, Shawn Camp, and Brandon League have been good as well in the bullpen.

Well, that's it for the major leaguers. I don't really want to talk about stats too much, but that's all I got for the minor leaguers. I want to take a look at how some of the kids on the farm are starting the season.

Las Vegas 51's (AAA)
  • Joe Inglett is hitting .333, showing (again) that he is too good for AAA.
  • Russ Adams is slugging .618 (with a .324 AVG.). Maybe he deserves another shot?
  • Brett Harper is hitting really well with a .316 AVG, with 4 HR and 17 RsBI.
  • Randy Ruiz is also being a valuable veteran in AAA, hitting .310 with 6 HR and 23 RsBI.
  • Buck Coats has 6 SB and a .388 OBP.
  • JP Arencibia has 9 2B, but has struggled mightily so far in AAA.
  • Brad Mills has been pretty lame in AAA, going 0-2 with a 4.71 ERA.
  • Brett Cecil has been pretty shitty as well, with a 8.31 ERA and a 0-3 record.
  • Jonah Bayliss has pitched 16 shutout innings so far this year, allowing just 1 unearned run.
  • Brian Bullington, Jeremy Accardo & Davis Romero are the other sub 2.00 ERA pitchers on the team. (Robery Ray & Bill Murphy were 0.00 ERA guys in very limited innings)

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (AA)

  • Brian Dopirak has hit .330 with HR and 16 RsBI.
  • Brad Emaus is hitting .291 with 16 RsBI as well.
  • Brian Jeroloman has an OBP of .367, along with an AVG of .286
  • Adam Calderon has 4 HR, as the only other double digit HR guy on the team.
  • Ray Gonzalez has been a stellar pitcher so far (1.39 ERA).
  • Fabio Castro has been even better (0.83 ERA) before his call-up to AAA.
  • Randy Boone, Luis Perez, and Marc Rzepczynski have all pitched well in the rotation as well.
  • David Shinske, Edgar Estanga, Zach Dials, and Leon Boyd all have ERAs lower than 3.50 in relief.

Dunedin Blue Jays (A+)

  • Darin Mastroianni has been incredible, with a .341 AVG, .432 OBP and 16 SB.
  • Moises Sierra is hitting .329 with a .424 OBP.
  • Eric Thames is hitting .307 with a .418 OBP and 20 RsBI.
  • John Tolisano leads the club with 3 HR.
  • Trystan Magnuson, Tim Collins, Danny Farquhar, and Robert Bell all have sub 2.00 ERAs in relief.
  • Casey Janssen has 2 excellent starts in rehap outings.

Lansing Lugnuts (A)

  • Johermyn Chavez is leading the team with a .319 AVG and 4 HR, with 14 RsBI.
  • Tyler Pastornicky, Kenny Wilson, and Marcus Brisker all have at least 5 SB.
  • Mike McDade leads the team with a .362 OBP, adding 3 HR and 9 RsBI.
  • Charles Huggins has pitched very well in 4 starts (1.74 ERA).
  • John Anderson has also pitched very effectively in 4 starts (1.96 ERA).
