How awesome is Doc Halladay? Every time I see him pitch, I am reminded of how much I love the game of baseball and just how lucky I am to be ableto watch him pitch. Not every market in baseball is lucky enough to be able to watch greatness every 5 days like we are.
Last night Marco was money, Hill was swinging sweet again, and Vernon, Barajas, and Bautista were swinging a nice stick. Millar added a nice little grand slam as well to back Doc as he got his 3rd win of the year.
What is up with Rios though? Damn. He looks like shit at the plate, late on every thing, hitting weak pop-up and fly balls. Who does he think he is? V-Dub? If only he would yell FUCK whenever he hit a weak out, he would at least be showing he cared.
I am so happy to see a team that can hit the ball out of the park, with 19 bombs in 11 games. Hill & Lind have put almost identical lines so far, with 3 HR and 12 RsBI, with averages of .380 & .370. Snider & Scutaro have also hit 3 HR, while Rolen & Wells have 2.
A lot of doubles as well, leading to an awesome .540 slugging percentage to start the year. This could be a fun season.
On the other side of the ball, the pitching has been pretty fantastic. Downs, Frasor, and Camp have yet to give up a run. Romero & Richmond have both had great starts to the season. Doc is a robot from another planet, so his start is both unsurprising and expected.
Some guys have had a rough start though, with Ryan & League struggling a bit early in the bullpen. Purcey has been a little shakey and Litsch looked pretty bad before getting hurt.
So, all in all, GO FUCKING JAYS GO!!!
BRAD WILKERSON UPDATE!!!!!!!!
1 hit in 9 ABs and a .200 OBP. A tiddy little .111 Slug% is nice too. Oh, he's not a pitcher? Then I guess these stats are pretty awfull. Moral of the story, Fuck Brad Wilkerson.
