So, it has come to this. Season 3. Ortiz vs Shamrock. Awesome.
The back and forth verbal jabs at each other were pretty sweet. Shamrock came off looking he didn't give a fuck about the fighters and also as a complete fool when it comes to coaching and interacting with humans.
Tito came off looking like an amazing coach, but with some serious favouratism flaws. He coddled the deaf kid, while kind of ignoring Bisping a little. At least he dominated Shamrock verbally all season, then pounded him out when they fought.
Well, without further adu, let's look at where the fighters are now.
Middleweights
Mike Stine
Stine was the token guy who just did not belong on the show. He showed some lame skills and got bulldozed by Starnes. There is not much information on the douchebag that I could track down.
Kalib Starnes
Kalib was the Canadian on this season, and had the leaf buzzed into the back of his head. Starnes is 2-3 in his UFC career since the show ended. He lost in the semi-finals on the show and was 1 of 2 members of team Shamrock to actually win a fight.
Kendall Grove
"Da Spyder" won the whole thing and made quite the indent on Tito Ortiz, as they seem to have pretty good friends. Grove is 5-2 in the UFC, including a victory over Evan Tanner in his final fight before his death.
Ross Pointon
Along with Bisping, "The Gladiator" is one of the first European competitors on the show. He used to fight at 205 before the show, moving to 185, then to 170 after the show. He has 2 losses in his 2 UFC fights.
Danny Abbadi
Danny was a pretty big douche on the show, being Hamill's personal slut. He also wore kapri pants and told some silly stories. His MMA career seems to have started on the Ultimate Figher, and then lost 2 fights in the UFC. He is pretty shitty.
Ed Herman
"Short Fuse" was a cocky fuck the entire season, but he had some great skills. Even though he lost in the finals, he was still offered a contract similar to the Stephan Bonnar incident. He is 4-4 in his UFC career and has been pretty blah.
Rory Singer
The nurse who trains with Forrest Griffin. That is what he was coming in. I also thought he was secretly gay, but it turns out I was wrong. I still think he has some cock-sucking tendancies (not that there is anything wrong with that). He is 2-2 in the UFC, and has seemed to move on to smaller promotions.
Solomon Hutcherson
The starter of "Team Dagger" with Kendall Grove, Solomon chirped at Rory the whole season until losing to him. Hard to find info on this douche.
Light Heavyweights
Noah Inhofer
Noah was the clown who left for his girlfriend and has not been invited back to the UFC since. Nice job, ass. Again, it seems Dana White has wiped this guy off the face of the planet.
Jesse Forbes
Jesse lost twice on the show, and did so while being a douche bag in his off time. He is 0-1 in his UFC career, but has been pretty good in smaller promotions, including a win over future Ultimate Fighter competitor Jesse Taylor.
Josh Haynes
Haynes was the fat, out-of-shape dude who cried a few times and didn't seem to have much skill. But damn could he brawl. He has since lost a bunchmore weight and fights at 170 now. He was 0-3 in his UFC career.
Tait Fletcher
Not much to say here. He didn't get a ton of screne time on the show and put of a good fight in his loss. He has never gotten a shot in the UFC, so he must've done something to piss off Dana.
Matt Hamill
Ah, the deaf kid. The 3 time NCAA champion and 2 time medalist in Greco-Roman Wrestling was hand picked to be the winner by Tito and it was hard to argue against it the way he pwned everyone in practice in wrestling drills. Things took a bad turn when Kendall knocked him loopy in sparring drills. Lol. He won a brawl with Nickels, but had to withdraw due to a head injury. He is 6-2 in the UFC, which is his only MMA experience.
Mike Nickels
He is a 3 time Gold Medalist in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsui events, which I didn't know. He also owns a tattoo parlor, which is pretty rad. He is 1-1 in his UFC fights. I hope to see him in the future.
Mike Bisping
"The Count" was my favourite from the beginning due to him not being American. Then I found out he was actually a great fighter and was pretty stoked. He ended up winning the show pretty convinclingly, but with doubts over whether he was better than Matt Hamill. He fought Hamill in England and pulled off a very controversial decision, still leaving those questions unanswered to some. Bisping has since dropped to 185 and is the Coach for Season 9. He is 7-1 in the UFC and will be fighting Dan Henderson soon for the #1 contendership for Anderson Silva's title.
Kristian Rothaermel
Kristian turned down a shot in the semi-finals, which ended up going to Ross Pointon, and has probably been black-balled a little for this. He has fought in the UFC though, losing his only fight.
OTHER NEWS!!!!
Anderson Silva will be fighting Forrest Griffin, in what will be a huge test for the Middleweight Champ. Griffin is my favourite fighter, so I do not know how I feel about him fighting the best fighter in the world. I hope Griffin pwns him and sends him back to his own weight class, but Silva is fucking dangerous. I don't know when this fight will be happening, but Silva will be motivated to put on a good fight, which should not be a problem.
