What A Start

Damn! What a great way to start the season.

A 4-5 (2B, HR, 6 RsBI) evening from young Adam Lind marked the best game of his career, and one of the finest opening games for a Jay in recent memory.

Doc was cyborgish through 6, but allowed the Tigers to get close with 4 in the 7th. Doc probably should not have come out for the 7th anyway, being so early into the season.

Carlson, League, and Downs pitched the 8th and Tallet pitched the 9th to finish it off.

Snider, Wells, and Rios all had 2 hits, and Overbay drove in 2 with a double.

Aaron Hill make a great play on a ball hit by Cabrera, and looked aggressive at the plate.

Big, young David Purcey takes the hill for the Jays tonight, and I am loving baseball being back. Hopefully, Sportsnet will show an afternoon game today. I need some more baseball.

Edwin Jackson takes the hill for the Tigers, and the Jays some experience against the erratic pitcher. He pitched for the Rays last season, and only Scutaro & McDonald (!) have an average above .300 against him (with 10+ PA), but there have been successfull power number numbers against him.

Purcey should have it in tough against a very righty-leaning line-up featuring Miguel Cabrera & Magglio Ordonez.
